- Past and Present
Taichung Municipal Cheng Kong Junior High School was founded in 1981. The school was first named Taichung County Cheng Kong Junior High School, which was replaced with the current one in 2010. At present, there are 56 classes at our day school, and 3 classes at our night school. The total number of students has reached more than 1,500. The faculty members are about 160. Under the management of our principal, Mr. JHENG-JHONG CAI, we are looking forward to enhancing and glorifying Cheng Kong, and moving towards a brighter future.

More than seventy percent of our teachers hold Master's Degrees and Doctorate Degrees. All the teachers are experienced, and with enthusiasm as well as good teaching performance. With the aid of our teachers, students are provided with after-school programs and remedial teaching programs. Both of the programs aim to enhance students’ learning and minimize the number of students who fall behind in their studies.

- Facilities

Our classrooms are well-equipped so that we engage students in digital learning. Furthermore, we also have 2 computer classrooms, 2 physics and chemistry laboratories, 1 biology laboratory, 1 art classroom, 2 music classrooms, and 1 science and technology classroom. It is worth noting that all our classrooms are equipped with air conditioners and LED touch-screens. Also worth mentioning is that the school has a total of 350 iPads. Most important of all, we have a Maker Education Classroom, which is one of the eight in Taichung city. In this facility, students are encouraged to do craftwork using 3D machines to create customized products such as printed bags, bottles, lamps and many more.

Cheng Kong offers a variety of programs so that students can choose what to learn according to their aptitudes. At present, we have 49 regular classes, 3 physical education classes, 3 special education classes, and 3 night school classes.

- Curricula

We have developed integrated curricula which touches on many issues that affect human-kind. The curricula expose students to life, career, moral, human rights, gender equality and environmental issues, and many more other emerging issues. Furthermore, in the aspect of maintaining discipline, we positively discipline our students instead of punishing them. The two above-mentioned efforts help our students to develop healthy personalities, thus cultivating excellent global citizens in them.

- Bilingual Program

In the year 2022, the school made the decision to introduce the bilingual program in the school to prepare our students to be part of the global village that we live in. As part of our staff, we have 2 foreign English teachers whose main role is to assist our students with specifically the communication aspect of English. This is to ensure that we groom students who can confidently and effectively communicate in contexts which require them to use the English language.
